Aeris Technologies Appoints Nigel Waites as Vice President of Engineering
Seasoned technology executive brings decades of leadership experience spanning advanced hardware, software, consumer electronics, cloud platforms, and connected devices
June 1, 2026 – Hayward, CA – Aeris Technologies today announced the appointment of Nigel Waites as Vice President of Engineering.
Waites brings more than 35 years of global engineering and product development leadership experience across high-growth startups and publicly traded technology companies. Throughout his career, he has led multidisciplinary engineering organizations, delivered award-winning connected products, scaled operations internationally, and guided complex technologies from concept through commercialization.
In his new role, Waites will lead Aeris Technologies’ engineering organization and support the continued advancement of the company’s high-performance trace gas analyzer portfolio for applications including greenhouse gas monitoring, emissions measurement, atmospheric research, industrial monitoring, and mobile leak detection.

Most recently, Waites served as Vice President of Product Development at FluidLogic, where he led the successful delivery of a next-generation hydration wearable and in-vehicle wellness platform. Prior to that, he served as CTO and COO of NURVV, where he helped bring an award-winning wearable running platform to market and scaled operations across North America and Europe.
Earlier in his career, Waites held executive and engineering leadership positions at companies including Best Buy, Apple, Polycom, National Instruments, and several venture-backed technology startups. He holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Rice University and a Bachelor of Science degree with First Class Honors in Digital Systems Engineering from University of Sunderland. He is also the holder of 20 U.S. patents.
