C2H2 – ACETYLENE
Precision Detection for Acetylene
Acetylene is a colorless, flammable gas with a faint garlic-like odor. It is the simplest alkyne, widely used as a fuel and a building block in organic synthesis. It is often used as a tracer to measure top-down facility scale methane emission flux due to its low atmospheric background and cost and its wide availability. It has a short atmospheric lifetime of about a month with the primary removal mechanism being reaction with the hydroxy radical.
